Budapest Design Week 2013

If you come to Budapest these days, don’t miss the very famous Budapest Design Week during your stay. It started today and takes until the 6th October. Budapest Design Week is entering its tenth year in 2013. There will be some changes and many interesting opportunities for design lovers.

The slogan of the 2013 program is 'Crossovers'. People are welcome to join workshops, meet designers and discover this year’s theme “Crossovers”, which will illustrate  how design can be an integral part of architecture, fine art, and even food.

This year Italy is the guest of honor, and there will be many exhibitions dedicated to the history and quality of “made in Italy”. A highlight of the Italian programs is the visit and lecture of the architect and star designer Michele De Lucchi, a defining figure of contemporary Italian design. During the week it will be possible to attend many special events, such as Michele De Lucchi’s presentation or the”Maserati Days“, where it will be possible to see the cars and, for few lucky ones, even get the chance of testing them.

Design Week Gastro brings unique food design projects into the series of events with special Design Week delicacies that are available only during the ten days of the event.

During the week it will also be possible to join the Design Tours around Budapest. More than 72 shops, showrooms, designer workshops and galleries will offer 20% off on many of their products.
